I´m loving the ministry here in Guatemala.  I love getting the opportunity to preach to the church in San Pablo and to share the Word of God with them.  Many of them don´t have Bibles, so it´s a real blessing and responsibility.  The other day we visited a Women´s shelter in San Juan.  There were so many women and children there, and my heart broke for them.  Their stories and their way of life are all so harsh.  We sang songs, played games with them, and I got to share a little bit of the gospel with them.  I used my classic iodine/Bleach object lesson to get the message across.

We also went and visited with Pastor Antonio´s family this week.  They live higher up on the volcano.  It wasn´t an easy walk really, but it was worth it.  We watched them make some sort of food that resembles tamales, but is a little less greasy.  They make tons of these every day and take them down to the market to sell.  Antonio´s mom, dad, and sisters all live on the same plot of land close to one another.  Antonio doesn´t get to visit them as often as he would like, but it´s great to see the family ties that that they all have.

Over the past few days we have been trying to learn a drama to do for our big Outreach tonight in San Pablo.  I taught my team the classic “In The Light” drama that AIM has us learn for short term trips.  Since our team is so small, and I don´t have all the music with me, that was pretty much the only option.  God did give me a great idea for a drama though, and I got that worked out this week.  Perhaps I´ll find time later ne
xt week to teach that to my team.  The Outreach tonight will be lots of fun, and hopefully it will be very fruitful.  Please pray that many people stop by to watch as we are setting up our stage on the basketball court.  Our outreach is from 6:00 to 8:00 tonight.

Tomorrow we have a great ministry opportunity.  Since our church meets at night, we have given Pastor Antonio´s wife the day off from cooking and cleaning.  She works so hard to serve us and tomorrow is our turn to give her a break.  We are going to cook breakfast and lunch and let her sleep in as late as she wants and do whatever she would like to do.  It also gives our team the chance to try and cook like a true Guatemalan.  It could be very interesting.  We are trying to make bean and cheese burritos with flour torillas, home-made corn chips and salsa, and some sort of dessert.  If this doesn´t work out, the Red Team and our host family will be fasting tomorrow!

So please, cry out to Jesus for the women and their children at the shelter.  Cry out to Jesus for the lost people of San Pablo who have the opportunity to hear the gospel tonight.  Cry out to Jesus for a good day of rest for our host family.  Cry out to Jesus for a good lunch since we are in charge of cooking it!
