I am so excited about this journey I am embarking on. I love getting to tell people what the Lord is doing in my life, and where He is leading me next. People have lots and lots of questions for me, but the most common seems to be something along the lines of “well, what about (work, school, financial related topic, etc)?” My verbal response: “oh, it’s all taken care of! (insert explanation here)” but in my head I think: “well, what about it?”
My decision to go on the World Race comes down to obedience and trust. I am being obedient to God’s calling on my life and trusting that He will provide all my needs in the midst of my obedience. So, why do this? Why leave everything/everyone I know and am comfortable with in exchange for a backpack and a bunch of strangers? Why go?
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” Isaiah 61:1-3
The Lord has placed a passion in my heart and a calling on my life to proclaim His name to the nations — to bring the hope, joy, peace, healing and love that comes from knowing Jesus Christ. I can’t think of a better way to spend a year of my life.
As we all know now, I love for King and Country! The song “Fix My Eyes” has become an anthem for this adventure I am taking.
“It takes a soldier who knows his orders
To walk the walk I’m supposed to walk
And love like I’m not scared, give when it’s not fair
Live life for another, take time for a brother
Fight for the weak ones, speak out for freedom
Find faith in the battle, stand tall but above it all
Fix my eyes on You”
So that’s why I go. I know the calling and I’m following it, no matter the cost, fixing my eyes on the One who gave all for me.
I can’t do this alone, though. I need your support prayerfully and financially! I have a pretty big goal to meet, but I know God is bigger than any dollar amount! I ask that you would prayerfully consider supporting me financially, whether through a one-time or monthly donation! Your support means so much to me!
