Can our hearts expand? Can we peal our eyes off ourselves, what is comfortable, or what we might gain to see the rest of the world around us?
With the state of the world and all the news we see come across our televisions and newspaper stands the answer has to be yes, we need it to be. This is not a blog about the end of the world or arguing belief systems; it is about the Father’s heart.
Let everything you do come from His heart. It will truly energize your spirit to stand in the gap for things you didn’t understand before.
Take a moment to focus your heart on His, ask to feel the Father’s heart about a family member, violence in a distant land, injustice around the world, gossip amongst your friends, the kid that sits alone at school, or even the girl who has the “perfect” life – feel His heart. Don’t say anything just feel what He feels as a Papa. I promise from that place you’ll have to pray, to seek, to spring into action.
It does seem so much easier to pray for the victim rather than the victimizer though. It’s easy to pray for families losing their loved ones, we feel that so easily (as we should). Do we feel as easy to pray for the “evil doer”? The man that is killing those people (brutally at that), can we pray for him with the same compassion?
The answer is no… if we haven’t focused on His heart and felt His love and desire for that man, we cannot. BUT when we pray from that place of His heart you’ll find yourself so moved for that man or woman, that in the worlds eyes isn’t a victim and isn’t worthy of prayer or even one good thought. But are they not victims?
They are victims to being blinded with persuasive words that keeps them from real truth. The deception eats and feeds on their thoughts and soon enough they don’t know any different, so deeply entrenched with thoughts rooted in deception they act upon what they know. Are they not victims of something that isn’t more so seen to the physical eye but most definitely the spiritual eye?
We must focus into His heart and pray and act from that place only. Praying from our own fleshly abilities is not spirit-led and certainly not fruitful.
Just tonight I sat on the balcony of our condo here in Florida, sitting in all my luxury and comfort, and I began to look up into the starry sky and just wait for Him, wait for Him to share His heart with me. God’s heart is not for select people you will come to find out very quickly when you focus into His heart. I began to be broken for the families that are burying their children, their spouses, and friends for simply refusing to convert to another belief system. Their courageous hearts and strength to stand in such times and adversity inspires me and convicts me. Soon though with Him leading me deeper into His heart I found myself so broken for those men that were executing these murders. Instantly I heard the words from Jesus, “for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34)
And I broke. Even as I type, such breaking. You will find that His heart is equally as focused on the “victimizer” as He is the “victim”. God shows no partiality. (Acts 10:34)
Most of the time the only thing I could attempt to pray was, “Come home, there is room in the Father’s heart for you. You were brought into this world from that place. Come back home to the Father’s heart.” And I just kept praying this over them because it is His heart’s desire – His heart’s desires are my own desires.
Please remember as evil comes across our paths that Satan’s agenda is to kill, steal, and destroy and he will use any avenue to see to that plan. BUT God’s agenda is for each person to feel the love He created them with.
Don’t turn your heart away from those precious ones. You may say “but that’s a little radical. You don’t know how bad they are.” And I say that His love is radical and He knew just how bad I was but yet there was room in His heart for me, for you, for everyone.
“But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.” (Luke 6:35-36)
There is still room in the Father’s heart.
