As a little girl… 3 orAs a little girl… 3 or 4 years old….
As a little girl… 3 or 4 years old….
I would attend a Sunday night service called "Mission Friends" at church…

It was a study about missionaries all over the world.

When I got a little older, I went to the class, GAs… Girls in Action and to me, the best part about being a GA was being able to attend Worldsong Camp in Shocco Springs, Alabama. Worldsong was a camp that focused on missions and missionaries.

After GAs, I became an Acteen.
After Acteens, I became a Pathfinder Youth.
After Pathfinder, I became a Praying Pelican.
After Pelican, I became a Worldracer.

All my life I have been exposed to missions.

There has always been something so particular about Africa.
Something so appealing about it….
Something different….
Something unique.
Something mysterious.
Something…..grand.

A weird and exciting fear….an anticipation.
A truly life changing experience.

Africa.

There are so many words and images that come to mind when you hear it.

Africa.

Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.

A little unknown fact about my Worldrace is that I was originally on another squad when I started.
I got a phone call one day that said, “hey… we are opening up a new route… thought you might be interested in it.”

When I opened the link, I loved that fact that it had my familiar territory of Central America! That was so exciting! But, when I saw month 6, 7, 8… I just cried.

I could not believe what was in front of me.
The big three.

Tanzania. Uganda. Kenya.

I just cried and cried. I could not believe this awesome opportunity and blessing the Lord had just given me. I was so excited, so happy, so joyful. I was completely overwhelmed.

It was amazing. I called AIM back and told them to sign me up!
I became a D squad racer and soon…
…..I would be on my way to this world that I have heard about all my life.

Africa.

And now… for me…it is so close.
17 days close.

(S-E-V-E-N-T-E-E-N DAYS)

It is a long awaited dream to come true.
The chance to go and experience the life and love of the African people.
The opportunity to share the name of Jesus for the first time.

Africa.

Everything I have ever expected or dreamed of… is only 17days away.

But…
As close as it is… it is still so far away.
I am still fighting daily to get better… a 100% better.
And… I am still fighting and urging to get funds up.

I need to be fully funded in these next 17 days or Africa gets put on hold for years to come
…..or even permanently for me.

I still need $2,714 left to raise to be fully funded for the Worldrace.
I still need $1,500+ for my flight back out to the field.

Think about what comes to your mind when you hear it…

AFRICA.

Do you think of the AIDS epidemic?
Do you think of the children trapped in slavery?
Do you think of the dirt floors and the miles families have to walk for water?
Do you think of those tribes who…even in 2012…have never even heard of the name of  JESUS?

Do you think that you could possibly choose to think of me, Amy Colley, when you hear it….
AFRICA.

It is a big deal…and I want to be apart of making a big difference.
Please choose to help me get there.

17 days left to be fully funded.
