For most of my life, I have reacted to situations based on my feeling instead of responding to them with Christ’s love. With the exception of what initially happens to us, I believe that  in all things, we have a choice. We choose what our lives look like, how we respond when the unexpected becomes our reality, and if we will serve our flesh or our God. The Bible is very clear about how we are to live: be holy for I am holy, be imitators of Christ therefore as dearly loved children, tame your tongue, trust in The Lord and lean not on your understanding, DO NOT WORRY, put away all anger malice and bitterness, make every effort to be at peace with all people, your attitude should be the same as Christ Jesus!! All of these verses are clear guidelines and they only scratch the surface. There was once a time where I thought I would never be able to love others more than I love myself, or where I could find joy in the pain of trials or even really trust and rest in Jesus all the way. We all face things that appear to be impossible, thinking we will never be able to change, and honestly, we can’t alone, but if we believe the scriptures we find that in Him, we can!! We will never be perfect in this life because we are sinners by nature but we can choose to allow The Lord to change our lives through sanctification which is just a fluffy word that means the process  to make us more like Jesus. We also have to ask Him for His help! The Bible says in James 4 that we don’t have because we don’t ask God, or we ask with the wrong motive! When we seek His help in His will, He will never deny us!! We can’t do it alone!! He is the only one who can change the heart and make us new! He gives grace always and He is faithful, even when we are not. I’ve heard it said, life is 10% about what happens to you and 90% about how you respond. If it’s our choice, what will we choose? ‘You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden.”  ?Matthew? ?5?:?14?
