So I have really come to the realization that we are in the middle of a war against light and darkness in this world. There is no more doubt or question in my mind about that. Ephesians 6:12 says, “for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Everywhere and in everything there is a battle going on. Wake up people it’s real. I am realizing I am on this race to fight for the lives of people who are being won over by darkness. Some people may not even realize it and others may feel like they deserve it. There are people who need to know that this is not it for them, that there is hope. There is the gospel of Jesus Christ that is meant for the sinners and broken hearted people. They are in need of something big, something that can lift them out of the inevitable torment and death they are experiencing. What these people need to know is that Jesus Christ has already won for them. The enemy has a way of tricking people into a life of self-hatred or just plain darkness and that is what Jesus came to conquer and pull people out of. Jesus says in John 10:10-11, “the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives life to the sheep.” Jesus is the light of the world. He brings life. He says in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life”. I think even as Christians we miss this point. The war is raging on and we are supposed to be soldiers for the Kingdom of heaven. We are supposed to fight for the lives of our brothers and sisters. I fight because I love, I love because Christ first loved me.
So I met this man today on the road. He overheard a couple of us talking to some school aged boys about Jesus and later told us he felt compelled to stop and listen. Once the boys left our translator began talking to him. When I looked at him I knew that God has been pursuing his life for some time. He had all these questions and invited us back to his home. Come to find out, in a town full of Muslims and mosques, this man had never heard of God or Jesus. We were able to share with him about the God of the universe and the lover of his very life. The more we talked he began to light up and I could see that he wanted to know Jesus. That’s what this is all about. Using my weapon of love to bring life where it’s needed most, it may be more powerful than you realize.
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, but fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us…and he who has God must love his brother.” 1 John 4:18,19,21.
