Kenya recap…
I know that God has a plan and purpose for everything, and this time here in Kenya was not a waste. I found myself wondering what I was doing and why I am here. The whole month was overall relaxing and ministry felt very minimal. It’s as if our pastor just wanted to teach us how to be served. During my last week in Kenya there was a revival going on in the church, and it wasn’t until the last night it hit me, myself and my team was ministering the whole time we were there. The pastor began to talk to the congregation and to us about how we had been such a blessing and how they loved serving us. Just us being there to encourage the community and the people we were living with was all part of God’s plan. The pastor had a way of challenging me in particular. He challenged me to figure out what my spiritual gifts are and put them to use. In one way I think we were able to shake the people of the church a little bit to step outside their comfort zones and look beyond themselves to expand the Kingdom. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to downplay the incredible things that did happen. Many were saved just from door to door ministry and not to mention the kids stole my heart.

So that was Kenya, now on to Uganda. It was a little sad to leave our new friends but I am ready. Ready for a new country, a new community, and a new challenge.

Speaking of challenges, the whole squad got back together before heading off into Uganda and we made a pit stop in Jinja where I got to raft the Nile River. SIIIIICK! Just saying, beats any class 5 rafting I’ve ever done. It was also really awesome re-grouping with the rest of the squad and just having some time to kick back.

Busia, Uganda watch out, here I come!
