So, what exactly have I been doing in India? Well, each day has been different so I’ll overview the different ministries we’ve been a part of. Other than attending church or prayer revivals, we’ve been pretty busy.

Our first stop was visiting the rescued temple prostitutes at Vidyaranya, which is a nonprofit, nonpolitical, and secular development organization. We got to spend the afternoon with them, making coasters and pencil holders from newspapers. They make these to sell, so they can support themselves. We all made friends and I met Luttie. She speaks a little English and has a sweet gentle spirit.

In between different organizations we do house visits and pray for people. Hospitality is off the charts here and we always get chai tea or soda and food of some sort. They’ll run to the store and buy something if they have nothing. So generous.

After this we visited the Home of Hope, which takes in the homeless people. They treat them for any medical needs, wash them, feed them, clothe them, and give them a place to stay. We got to minister to the women there. My last blog was a snippet of my experience there.

We’ve also gone to a school for the blind and ministered to the students there. Julia and I ministered to a few men there. We had the pleasure to minister to and pray over the patients in a nursing home. Here’s Joanne, one of the women we got to minister to.

We went to two different orphanages and got to play with and share bible stories with the children. We danced and sang and prayed together.

For our last full week in India we worked at Accept, which cares for children and adults suffering from HIV and AIDS. We got to work around the premises and help upkeep their farming operation. Later on we got to minister to the patients inside. It was a beautiful time of sharing scripture, praying, and worship, just one on one.

That’s the quick summation of where we have been and what we’ve been doing! Thanks for reading! Here’s us with our amazing hosts!
