So, I’ve recently returned from Training Camp, aka a week of introduction to world cultures, yourself, God, and learning how to love and pursue intimacy with God, yourself, and others. It was a pretty intense time of growth and learning. Training Camp made me realize all over again why I’m going on the World Race.
So why the World Race and, better yet, why should you care?
The #1 reason: my Father called me to go.
He’s called me to die to myself and take up my cross and follow Him. He’s called me to love and obey Him (It’s easy to love the One who died for you and still loves you in spite of yourself, but sometimes it’s hard to obey).
He’s called me to go spread the good news of His love and sacrifice, so that we could be reconciled back into a relationship with Him and live the amazing life He has for us. There’s nothing better than knowing Him and being known by Him.
He’s called me to love the least, to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to heal the sick, to visit the imprisoned, etc.
My Papa has called me to love boldly.
I’ll get to do this and more on the World Race.
So, why should you care?
This calling is not exclusively mine – it’s for all of us. If you’re a Christian, a Christ follower, you should care. He’s placed the calling to reach the nations and love the least of these on all of us. Maybe that looks different for you than for me. Maybe you’re to do that right where you are. Maybe you can’t go, but still want to take part. You can be a part of this journey, the World Race, anyways. Do you love interceding for others with prayer? Be a prayer warrior for us and the people we’ll meet. Can’t go yourself, but you can give financially to someone who can? Be a donor. Feel called to go? Go. You can be a part of this.
If you care about other human beings, you should care about the World Race, even if you’re not interested in my loving Papa. My squad, which consists of about 50 people, is sacrificing a year of their lives to go into the dark, impoverished places of Asia to love the unloved, to serve the needy, to give hope to the prostitutes and lady boys, and to speak life into the orphans. We’re stepping out to live a life of bold love, even though it’s costing us. You should care about the cause.
You might not be called to go on the World Race. Maybe God has you right where you need to be. Maybe you can’t physically do this work. Maybe you can’t leave your job and serve abroad for a year. Whatever your situation is, it doesn’t matter. You can still be a part of this amazing journey. Stepping out of your comfort zone and loving, giving, or serving will change you and make you a better person. I can vouch for this.
This crazy love is worth it. You should care. Be a part of this. However you can. Be a prayer warrior. Be a donor. Go yourself. Whatever you’re called to do – do it.
This is why the World Race.
If you want to be a part of this amazing journey, join in! Pray for me and my squad. Help fund this work. Go. Don’t be afraid to step out. Love Boldly!
