Hey yall!
My name is Alexis Martin, but you can call me Lex! 
I was born & raised in the small town of Hopkinsville, Kentucky but I now call Columbus, Indiana my home. It doesn’t matter what state I’m in, I’m always in a southern state of mind! I have an older brother, Allen, and a little sister, Abby. We like to call ourselves Triple A. 🙂 I grew up in a Christian home with two very loving, supportive, but also divorced parents. I gave my life to Christ at the age of 8, but it wasn’t until I was around the age of 15 until I started living my life fully for God.
I am a psychology major at IUPUC (Indiana University- Purdue University in Columbus, Indiana). I absolutely love and am very passionate about my major, so far. This past summer I had the opportunity to work at an amazing Christian summer camp, called Camp Allendale in Trafalgar, Indiana, which led me to realize the passion I have for children.
I’ve looked at several different blogs on this site, and I have seen countless people say God has called them to missions. Am I called to missions? I don’t know, but is God calling me to do The World Race? Absolutely. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t scared out of my mind. The World Race will push me to my physical, mental, emotional, and most important, spiritual, boundaries, however I am looking forward to getting to travel the world and help do the work of God! Giving my family, friends, and comfort items up for nine months and completely depending on The Lord will, no doubt, be tough, but it will worth while!
If you’re down with the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator I’m an ENFJ. If you’re into The 5 Love Languages, I have three equally top scores: physical touch, quality time, and words of affirmation. And because I am a crowd pleaser, if you like internet quizzes; I’m Blair Waldorf, Aurora, Ron Weasley, and if I were an animal, I’d be a dog. 
Fun Facts:
I am pretty basic in everything I do, therefore:
- I am almost always listening to One Direction (it’s okay to judge me), Taylor Swift, the Goo Goo Dolls, or anything country/ Christian!
- I love reading The Hunger Games, Divergent, and anything John Green and Jodi Picoult.
- You can almost always find me cheering on anything that is the University of Kentucky. (especially UK basketball!)
- My favorite animal is an elephant!
