Pray for:

The Church
-The church has been surviving and growing in our generation. The church in China grew from 2.7 million evangelicals in 1975 to over 75 million in 2010. And a few sects of the Chinese that had no believers among them in the late 1990s now have growing networks of house churches. So praise the Lord for this!
-The church in China has a strong vision to reach the unreached minorities in China and those outside of China with the Gospel! Pray that the church will reach the unreached!

Persecution
-China is considered a restricted country, meaning China’s government has policies and practices that prevent Christians from obtaining Bibles and other Christian literature, etc.
-“Praise the Lord for the faith and commitment of Christians under what may have been the harshest and most widespread persecution of the Church in all history. Persecution and suffering refined the Church and shaped it to withstand successive waves of repression and government efforts to weaken or destroy it. God, powerfully working through the unwitting atheist rulers of China, cleared spiritual roadblocks for the advancement of Christianity through Mao Zedong; freed up the economy and gave more freedom to Christians through Deng; and, through Hu Jintao, God guided China to new levels of interconnectedness with the rest of the world, strengthening the link between the Chinese Church and the worldwide body of Christ.”

Chinese Government
-Pray against corruption within the government.
-The government has slowly been changing its attitude and approach toward the Church, particularly the unregistered church. “While substantial opposition and persecution remain, the Chinese government now, for the first time, recognizes the size of the unregistered Church as being at least 50 million and is making overtures toward its leaders. The Church is of such size and influence that it can no longer be ignored or denied; furthermore, the state is recognizing faith-based organizations’ potential for addressing social ills.” Praise the Lord for this and pray that God will continue to change China’s outlook on Christians.
-“Pray also that all followers of Christ working in state structures might walk faultlessly and be a redemptive force within government.”
-Even more than that, pray that influential members of China’s government will come to know the Lord!
-China holds incredible influence in world economics and politics. “Yet, China itself remains politically oppressive and is wracked with corruption. Pray for God’s Sovereign hand at work in and through the Chinese government; pray that all forms of wickedness may be opposed, that kindness be shown to the oppressed and that justice and prosperity for all be the goals of China’s economic and foreign policies.”

Chinese Society
-There is some serious materialism in China. Wealth is increasing and corruption is spreading. Pray that God would be lifted higher than idols of materialism and that the desire for treasures in Heaven would surpass the desires for the things of this world.
-One-child birth policy… Woah. Pray for families in China. Pray that the worth of daughters will be restored. Pray for these parents who have to give up their children. Pray for marriages. “Family and community life are deeply changed. Pray for family stability and well-being. Divorce rates are skyrocketing (1.5 million/year).”
-The population of China is over 1 billion. “ocial and health needs in China overwhelm the available resources. Pray that Christians in the caring and social professions find many openings to serve the suffering and to show and speak to them about the love of Jesus. Pray also for Christian lawyers who attempt to stand for justice on behalf of those unable to do so themselves.”
-“Pray for the vulnerable and helpless. Those most open to abuse and oppression remain women, orphans (three million in orphanages), refugees (especially from North Korea) and the millions living in poverty. Pray that true justice be administered, that rescue be gratned to those in imminent danger and that mercy and compassion be shown to these through Christ’s followers.”
-Pray for “the depressed and hopeless. China now has the highest number of suicides in the world at nearly 300,000 per year, a majority of whom are women. Mental health issues are possibly the most urgent social need in China.”
-“Pray for many Christians to get involved in drug rehabilitation, marital counseling and suicide prevention.”
-“Pray for the overlooked. Many suffer indignity and oppression unseen by most ” the elderly without care, victims of natural disasters struggling to rebuild, migrants making their way in overcrowded enclaves of Chinese megacities, minority communities and those in the harsh penal system. Jesus sees and remember them all; pray that the Church might also.”

Health
-Pray for those with disease and ill health.
-“Millions suffer with tuberculosis, diabetes is on a rapid rise and hundreds of thousands are HIV positive. Since the government changed its attitude on reporting infectious rates, Christians now have more opportunities than ever to care for HIV patients and others suffering from debilitating and terminal diseases.”
-“Drug-use rates are rapidly increasing ” now over one million users, two-thirds of who are under age 35. Smoking is a ticking time bomb ” 350 million smokers consume over two trillion cigarettes a year.”
-“Around 83 million disabled, or one-fifth of the world’s total, live in China. Yearly, over 1.2 million are born with defects, and the number is rising.
-“The medical profession is ill-equipped to offer sufficient help to the 40 million affected by mental illness.”
-“Praise God that China’s hosting of the Paralympics in 2008 brought improvements in public perception and in quality of life and treatment for the disabled.”

Other Beliefs
-“China remains officially atheist, and Communist Party members number well over 70 million. But the Christian population has eclipsed this number (it is also far outstripped by Chinese Buddhists). Increasing numbers of Party members are believers. Pray that the atheism promoted for so long ” and now so assiduously propagated in the education system ” will finally be revealed as hollow and deceptive lies.”
-Buddhism and Taoism are also prevalent.

Our Ministry
-Pray that China will remain spiritually open.
-Pray that we will speak the Word of God boldly and love unashamedly, despite the risk of persecution.
-Pray that God will use us to bring emotional, mental, spiritual and physical healing to the lost, vulnerable, hopeless, neglected and forgotten.
-Pray that God will use us as an encouragement to the Church in China.
-Invite God’s Spirit to be wherever we go in China! He goes before us. Let His Spirit make a way and begin now to open hearts and prepare both us and the people we meet for what He is going to do.
-Pray that we and anyone we come into contact with will literally feel God’s presence even the midst of such a dark place. LIGHT INTO DARKNESS.
