Before I start my blog on our time spent in China, I have to get something off my chest…
JESUS JESUS JESUS JESUS JESUS JESUS JESUS JESUS JESUS JESUS GOD GOD GOD GOD HOLY SPIRIT HOLY SPIRIT HOLY SPIRIT PRAYER BLESSINGS GOSPEL BIBLE (and last but not least) MISSIONARY….. !
Whew. Sorry. I’ve missed saying those words for the past month.
Going into a closed, communist country after spending 3 months in Africa where all we did was preach, evangelize, and let the gospel flow in our speech as fluently as water and integrated Jesus into every conversation as simple as “Hello, how are you – here is my testimony”, was quite the shift.
Not bad, just different. And I’ve come to realize how much I miss saying His sweet name and all the wonderful things He has done in my life through this journey. So thanks for letting me get that out of the way.
Now onto CHINA.
Goodness, I wish I could post all my precious pictures of every special and wonderfully made child we loved on, but out of respect and protection for the safety of our organization we partnered with, I can’t disclose any information, pictures of faces, or names.
But here is some of the artwork they did:
An overview of our time spent in China is that we had the opportunity to work with an incredibly powerful organization that fully relies on His power each and every day with the special needs children they receive from orphanages and take into their care. Sweet Jesus goes before them and cuts out a beautiful path for each and every child; providing over 200 surgeries to date and placing many children into loving families around the world through adoption. Seeing the walls God breaks through for them every day is truly an incredible thing to witness. Some of the stories they told us about God providing for them in desperate situations are quite astonishing.
I apologize for the vagueness, but just know and trust that God is doing incredible miracles at a swift pace in a country where His name is not well known. The “Big Guy” knows no boundaries and I’m honored we were able to help.
We led preschool in the mornings, helped our friendly contact and her family of 3 sweet, intelligent, and kind adopted Chinese daughters, move into their apartment in the afternoons, and served at the foster home a couple of days.
It was a perfect pace for our team to find our footing for our second time alone (without another team), as well as a great setting to hear from Papa loud and clear on some lessons He was teachings us each individually.
China was fantastic and definitely left me hungry to see more, experience more, and love way, way more. No, I still don’t know what job I will have when I get back or even what state I will be living in. But I do know that if you love someplace enough, you will find a way to go back.
So China, I’ll see you soon.
