This month has been absolutely amazing. How you ask?

Well I didn't hold any adorable babies. And no, didn't exactly build a house for orphans. Yeah, I also didn't go door-to-door evangelizing or go sit in the middle of the city and have an organic* worship session. I didn't even get to pray for a cute little old widow and get a sloppy wet kiss on the cheek in return! (I actually am a bit upset about that one, those are my favorite haha). Didn't witness the lame walk, or drive out demons in His name. These things weren't in the cards for me this month.

So what made this month so awesome and how come I grew so much in my identity as a daughter of the King?

I cleaned bathrooms. I scraped grime out of bath tubs for hours.

I cleaned, vacuumed, swept, and moped more rooms than I can count.

I raked grass. I mowed.. and then raked more grass. So much raking.

I scrubbed mold off of a gas tank. And then painted the fence around the gas tank yellow.

I spent a whole day digging a trench, and then evened out the mud by… you guessed it, raking!

I weeded multiple gardens.

I washed endless amount of dishes.

I cleaned & organized a toolshed; arranging wood and fighting off spiders simultaneously takes talent ya know.

The list goes on…

You see, it wasn't the tasks that made me grow. It was finding Jesus in the tasks that made my faith bloom. Praying and conversing with others about how raking for hours, or weeding gardens or fill in the blank, applies to our spiritual life. What lesson is God teaches us today? And yes, sometimes the lessons got a bit ridiculous and just plain silly but God likes to have fun with us too.

We stayed up late every single night, sitting around the couch, drinking tea and talking about how we can become a bride of Christ. We challenged each other with questions, thoughts, opinions, and scripture. I saw fellowship at a whole new level this month and how being vulnerable is one of the greatest weapons against the enemy.

This month was real.

It wasn't the "pretty" ministry most people imagine missions to be.

To be honest, there were days when I was ready to wave the white flag on manual labor and go find that baby to hold. But God reeled me back in, telling me He needs me here to pray for the camp and intercede for the work that is to come. He needs to talk me through some more issues while doing mindless labor so that when I do the relational ministry, I will be fully equipped.

It was an amazing month because Jesus made it amazing. The month isn't quite over yet, and I continue to see his faithfulness with fundraising. The July 1st deadline is only 4 days away and I am only short $409.00! I am so humbled and blessed by my incredible donors, and I want ya'll to know I pray for each of you and am thankful from the bottom of my little Texan heart. My only request is to continue praying and spreading the word for this final deadline. Every little bit helps! Thank you!!
