So its been a pretty interesting week or two, between getting rained out on my yard sale fundraiser, planning two others and being reminded I need to get to $8900 in account by months end to be able to leave on this trip, while having just about $5300 to date, its definitely been interesting. However, in these past two weeks, I have also gotten a chance to see God move and provide in Scott’s life; friend and squadmate extraordinaire. I have seen his fundraising account go from very, very little, with almost good ’cause to worry…almost, to having over $8700 in his account today…or something close to that amount(not sure if I’m allowed to divuldge that info, so lets keep it on the DL)
Anyway, that is really cool and there have been similar stories of other team and squadmates also having amazing encounters, where God has just showed up in an amazing way or basically just come through, specifically with regards finances for this trip and it really has been encouraging and refreshing, and here’s more of a profound obvious reason why.
I was reminded of something today from an example of a mom that had a large number of kids, and having no favorites, used the time she spent on chores like grocery shopping and running errands to also spend some quality time with and sow into the lives of her kids, individually. So basically, every week, she alternated consistently which of her kids she spent time with, loving on each one, and giving each one their own special time with her.
One of the daughters now grown up, recalled this about her mom and with that revealed this obvious profound truth I speak of. Everytime she would see her siblings get to spend some quality time with mom, and even hear of their exciting adventures afterwards, she learnt and grew to be excited for them and encouraged by it, because if nothing more than the obvious, it meant it was that much closer to being her turn to spend some good mom time again. Be it in two, three or even four weeks, she knew that with every other of her siblings that got to spend time with mom, another turn for her was right around the corner and it only got reaffirmed in her that mom loved her no less, ’cause…she was gonna get hers!!
