Below is a copy of my support letter, this is a call to action and I would ask that you seek the Lord and join me as He directs. Thanks

To Friends and Family,

I do hope this letter finds you well. In recent past, I began praying for a renewed sense of direction in my life; career, relationship amongst others and a renewed passion for the heart of Jesus. Well, the Lord gave me “The World Race”. As some of you are already aware, I have been recently accepted to be a part of this missions experience called The World Race, through an organization; Adventures is Missions. I will be a part of one of a few teams sent out in June of 2009, charged with the task of sharing God’s love in its most basic of forms, while experiencing new cultures and being stretched by the Lord in ways I can sometimes only scarily but credulously fathom.

The World Race is a program that sends teams of six people to eleven countries around the world in eleven months. We will be serving the needs of the communities we are in, in ministries that include building projects, AIDS relief, sharing Jesus through prayer, drama, worship and more. We will be working alongside already established ministries and contacts in the different countries as coordinated by Adventures in Missions.

Through this period of time, I know the Lord is going to be also ministering to me, even as I minister to others and so it is most imperative that I am very much supported in prayer. With that, I would like to ask you to prayerfully consider joining me in this ministry through prayer, even in the months leading up to the trip as He prepares me, but also for the months I am on the trip…and maybe even a little bit more when I get back. I do need 10-15 people to commit to lifting me up in prayer daily for this period of time, please let me know if you would like to join me this way.

Some of you were probably waiting for this, but it really would not be possible for me to be a part of this ministry without your financial aid. The cost of the trip, including food, travel, lodging, ministry and medical expenses is $16,000 or broken down to $1,455/month. With your help and prayer, I know this amount can easily be met. This is another way to partner with me in this ministry and be a part of this trip, as the Lord leads. Broken down further, if 5 people pledge to give $100/month, 10 people give $50/month, 20 people give $25/month, 20 people give $15/month, and 20 people give $10/month for the 8 months leading up to my departure on June 1st, 2009, I will have reached my goal even before I leave for my trip. The option to give one time gifts is also available. Please seek God for guidance on how you can partner with me, through prayer and/or through financial support.

I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, which invites you to share in this ministry. Please make checks payable to Adventures in Missions. You may write “appealed by” and my name in the memo section of the check if you wish. All donations should be mailed to Adventures in Missions P.O. Box 534470 Atlanta, GA 30353-4470. Including the enclosed card will provide AIM with all necessary information. AIM is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Donors will receive receipts for their gifts with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at the discretion of AIM and that the gifts are non-refundable and non-transferable per IRS regulations. Gifts may be tax deductible: please consult your tax advisor.

I will have a blog that I will update as I begin to prepare and while on the trip, detailing experiences and general updates. To read up and continually be a part of what God is doing in me and this ministry, or give one-time gifts online, visit http://arthurpeters.theworldrace.org. To find out more about the World Race and read the blogs of all other past, current, and future World Racers, visit www.theworldrace.org

Thanks for letting me share with you, and you partnering with me in “making disciples of all nations” (Matt 28:19-20).

Warmest regards,

Arthur Peters
