Wanting to know more about tomorrow is the worst thing you can do for your journey.

There once was an ad agency owned by a wise man. After several years of success, he decided to take a years vacation and at the time had three employees. Before he left, he gave each of the employees accounts to take care of while he was gone. He gave the first employee five accounts, the second two accounts, and the third one account. For one year, each of the employees looked after the accounts

The first looked at the accounts given to him and realized they were not the most profitable accounts, so he went searching. As he began to go to dinners and make connections, he found ten profitable companies to pursue that were looking for new perspectives. Although he wanted to take care of the accounts the owner had given him, he saw the potential in the ten other companies. He had to give up the current accounts to have time to pursue the bigger accounts and he did at the risk of having nothing. The second followed in the first employees steps and pursued bigger accounts. The third employee worked with the company given to him and made sure that they had their needs met.

When the owner returned, he asked for them to present their updates to him. When the first employee came to the owner and shared that he had ten new accounts to replace the old, the owner was ecstatic and gave the employee a raise. The second also came and shared that he had four new accounts and the owner gave him a raise. When the third shared that the account given to him was happy and taken care of, the owner became very upset and the employee was let go.

What good is it to live without risk?
