So we’ve been neglecting the blogging a bit these past couple weeks.
A lot has been happening, more than I could talk about effectively in one blog, so this is the condensed version:
After a hectic first few days, God led us to a 66-acre missions compound that is owned by Global Outreach and led by David and Judy Heady. After our initial missions contact fell through, our team leader Joshua got in touch with Judy, who had known Joshua’s grandfather for years.
When we arrived, we were blown away. God put a call on the hearts of the Headys to make this place “an oasis in the desert,” and it most certainly is. There are a bunch of different ministries, such as Samaritan’s Purse and Friend Ships, that are working out of this place. Global Outreach has a burn and wound clinic, a distribution program for food, a program for building houses…people are all over the place doing God’s work, and we’re blessed to be a part of it!
I’ve been doing lots of different kinds of work, which I’ll talk more about later.
God has really been using this month to challenge me and April and grow us in a bunch of different ways. Once again, more details later.
To everyone back home, I love you and I miss you and I’m praying for God to bless you. Time for me to hopefully catch up on some sleep.
