This morning we leave Hong Kong for mainland China. While we're excited to be spending our final month of the Race in such an exciting spot, we're quickly learning that this will be a very unique month.
To put it briefly (since our internet is quite limited), communication will look very different during his final time. Facebook is banned in China and all electronic communication is carefully monitored. A thousand people are employed to examine every email, text, and phone call sent or received within the country, and they're not too keen on hearing of mission activities.
With that being said, there will be no blogs posted this month. We will certainly update everyone on our experiences when we get home, and will backdate everything so that no one's out of the loop. We were warned to be cautious about anything done online during our time in China, and we don't want to jeopardize the ministry and work of our contact.
China is going to be an awesome month. We've a decided it's to be so. But we could definitely use some prayer! We're going into a totally foreign culture and are encouraged to be very careful in how we present the Gospel. We also understand that the Chinese people are thirsty for the message of Christ and that Christianity is the fastest growing religion in the country. The harvest is plentiful there – we just need to be sensitive as we work the field.
Thanks for your love and understanding!!
