The secret's out! We are a weird, old, married couple. But we're also two individuals who are beyond excited for this experience and for everything God has to teach and to show us!
A little about the two of us:
We originally met at church when Dave was in 4th grade and Kelsey in 3rd. The romance didn't start until college, however, as Dave had the impression that Kelsey was a quiet, lonely girl whose idea of a good night out was going to the library and talking to her only friend, Jesus. Though the two attended colleges in different states, and though Kelsey was never State-side during any summer/winter breaks, we managed to make it work. We have now been (mostly!) happily married for 2.5 years. Our children are our cats, as noted below.
A little more information:
– Dave and Kelsey love their cats. There's not a whole lot to add to that with the exception that Kelsey's cat, Clementine, is the most beautiful cat in the world. This is not a comment to debate, as she understands everyone finds their cat to be the most wonderful creature alive. 🙂
– You can easily distinguish who is who (apart from obvious reasons) by watching us interacting with new people. Both are friendly and want to get to know people, but Dave is much more outgoing and personable. Kelsey is shy and reserved; please don't take that as being unapproachable or disinterested!
– In the warmer months, we can most often be found outside. Neither of us is picky about the activity, but will embarrass ourselves by trying just about anything!
– Dave collects and sells G.I. Joes. If you have any questions about which Joe is who or what special talents any of them posses, he's the man for the job. He can also let you know the year, make, and model of the Joes, as well as which are most valuable and why. He's that cool.
– For the next few months, we're preparing for our hearts and minds to be radically changed. Goodbye jobs, apartment, stuff, cars, and love (aka Clem!), and hello to a new perspective on loving our fellow man, serving others, and having a true heart for what Christ has called us to do.
– Oh! And we're so excited to meet our future squad/teammates!
