Our team leader, Evan, posted this blog to help out our teammates, Jenna and Rikki, to stay on the Race. How is he doing this you might ask, well read this blog to find out about: girls playing (and winning) a basketball tournament, how beards could be lost, how two of our teammates can stay on the Race, and most importantly how you can be apart of this tournament from half way around the world!

So, as everyone knows, the next deadline is quickly approaching. At the end of next month, all people need to be fully funded, or else they go home. I have a couple teammates (Jenna Kehrli and Rikki Lynn Vick) who have a few thousand dollars left to raise, so we are thinking of more fundraisers.
Also, as everyone knows, I have a huge beard that is said to be “getting out of control”, whatever that means. I think that it is just starting to look good, but people have their opinions, even though they arent right, or so I say. But nonetheless, I have agreed to put the beard on the line to help raise money for these two teammates. But Im not going down without a fight.

So heres whats been thought up. The girls (Annee Ballard, Natalie Reeves and Lauren Erb) have challenged us (Nathan will be on my team, but is keeping his beard) to a three on two basketball game. If they win, I shave the beard, and why would I not take this chance to try and raise money for my teammates?! Heres the fundraiser part: For every $100 raised for my two teammates, or anyone you want to donate money to on the squad, the girls get a point head start. Not because they are bad, but to make us guys work harder. Or, if $2100 is raised, we play the game for fun, then afterward we automatically shave my beard.
The game will be two on three, first one to 21 points, by ones and twos. If you would like to participate in this fundraiser, comment on my blog how much you would like to donate, then send in the money! The comments are only because the money probably wont make it in before the game, because I waited till the last minute to post the blog.
