Hello Again, faithful and supportive people! I hope you all are well as you read this and can find something to thank the Lord about today!
As we continue this journey, Faith and I have been with a specific team this month. It has been a bit of a slower month, but productive nonetheless.
We are sleeping in beds, not the dirt or in a tent. We have A/C, instead of sweating ALL THE TIME. And the copious amounts of mosquito repellant have not been needed!
With this being the case I can tend to beat myself up when realizing I am not being that “challenged”, but through our amazing Heavenly Father I have also learned a lot about simply receiving blessings and His favor!
So yes- I may not be sleeping in a tent and getting eaten alive by mosquitos, but I want to be quick be thankful and receive the blessing Faith and I are experiencing being where we are.
SO this month has been good overall. This month Faith has been doing an incredible job at pouring into these ladies on the team. She is killing it and I am so proud of her. We are learning more about our personal strengths and how we can work as a team together in different ways.
The team we are currently with is an all girls team, so Faith has been having more “one on ones” and I have been finding myself praying over all of them in my own time.
One day in particular I found myself praying for all of the ladies and their specific prayer requests we had discussed the night before. A lot of their requests were centered around “clarity”. Whether it be for the future or the here and now.
I was on the roof doing a work out and praying during my rest periods. I did not have my glasses or contacts in so my 20/200 eyesight was a bit cloudy as I prayed for clarity over these girls. THEN IT HIT ME!
I am extremely nearsighted. I can see things close up, but objects further away all blend together as a big weird looking cloud or something…..ANYWAY
As I was praying for clarity I realized the closer I am to something the more clearly I see it! It was beautiful as I realized how much this relates to these prayer requests.
We want clarity on certain things. We want clear answers, and I don’t believe these are wrong things to ask God for. What I have come to realize though, is that when we are keeping in close relationship with our Lord, the more clarity and PEACE we will have on these decisions.
Its simple. The closer we follow the Lord, the more clearly we will see Him. And this should be our goal as followers of Jesus- to see Him clearly in these requests or in the future.
The closer we follow our Lord in His word and maintaining that relationship with Him, I believe we are blessed with more clarity and peace when it comes to our lives. When my hand is close to my face I can see it very clearly, but the farther I move it away the more blurry it becomes.
We are told to “fix our eyes on Jesus” in Hebrews 12:2- focus on Him and trust Him. The closer we are to someone too, the better we can hear them.
I shared this with the team later in the evening and they encouraged me to blog about it, so HERE I AM! I hope this may have spoken to any of you all and if anything it can be an encouragement how God is speaking to me!
with love and for His Glory,
Austin
