It is currently midnight as I type this post and we find ourselves in Cote  d’Ivoire! AFRICA! I cannot believe it! We flew out of Peru a few days ago and landed last night after a few flights.

We stayed in Madrid, Spain for 34 hours with the Salvation Army and it was a true blessing! Madrid was beautiful! From there we had a connecting flight in Rome where we picked up some Romans and then we stopped in Ethiopia, again WOW….From there we made it to the Ivory Coast, or as they want you to say Cote d’Ivoire!

We had our briefings on culture and the areas we will be going today. We learned some basic French, as that is the main language here, as well as cultural norms. To be a “man” you wear long pants…all the time….in 100 degree heat….cant wait! And for women it is best to wear a long skirt or dress.

We found out that my team will be heading 5 hours up north to a remote village that hosts about 400 people and has no electricity or running water.

We also found out that we will be planting and establishing the first church!

I am beyond excited for this opportunity to bring the GOOD NEWS OF JESUS to these people!

Please join us in praying that the Spirit of God will move on the hearts and minds of these people! Our host continually said he wants these people to “renew their minds” and Romans 12:1-2 obviously came to mind.

Please pray that these people will be receptive to the Gospel of Jesus and that we will be sensitive to the leading and guiding of the Spirit!! Pray that these people will begin to live Romans 12:1-2!

We will not have wifi this month or the ability to go to a local coffee shop because of how far the city is.

Thank you all for your support and continual prayers and encouragement- it does not go unnoticed or unappreciated!

With love and for His glory on earth as it is in Heaven,

Austin
