Have you ever entered in to a situation knowing that it was an impossible one? A task so enormous that on your own there’s not even a glimmer of hope to accomplish it? That is exactly the place we found ourselves in at the end of training camp.

We had exactly 6 weeks before we were supposed to board a plane to India. We still needed eleven thousand dollars to make it a reality.

ELEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS!!

We had already made a plan. Almost every weekend we had a fundraiser planned. Everything from selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts, hosting a yard sale and having a car wash. We had even considered going door to door to raise some funds. Even so, we calculated that the most we could possibly raise in such short amount of time was  six thousand dollars. Six thousand dollars wasn’t going to do it, there was no way we were going to be able to get on that plane.

God will do amazing things when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, fully believing in the power of the body of Christ as a whole, we shared our fears of being unable to raise our support with our squad before we left training camp. Because of this, they surrounded us and covered us in prayer.

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

-Matthew 18:20

The spirit began to move, in the hearts of our squad mates, their families and their friends.

How do I know it was God? If you knew us, you would know that we don’t make friends easily, and there we were only having known these people for ten days and they were already willing to make financial sacrifices and to share our story with the people they surround themselves with so that we could be there with them when they left on that plane. We had so many anonymous gifts, and donations from people we had never even met. God works in his own way, in his own time. He worked through the love that our family and friends have for us first to make sure we had the funding to go to launch in the first place. His ultimate power was revealed in the past six weeks, in the impossibility of our situation. We saw his power when his children gave faithfully believing in God’s power to do great things through their willingness to give, believing this to be God’s call of  “going out and making disciples of all nations” , believing that we could be used to fulfill that call.

We left Canada only needing eight hundred dollars to reach our goal to get on the plane. Today ( our departure day ) we have reached our goal! God is so good 🙂

Thank you to everyone who was a part of getting us to this place, we can’t wait to share with you the amazing things we witness God doing in the places we are going to.
