I’m sitting on the couch at my parents’ house in Gainesville, Georgia. The tree is lit, presents are piled under it and sisters are seated all around. My mom made some of the most delicious lasagna I’ve ever eaten last night and tonight, my favorite – chicken curry. It is good to be home.

The grandparents arrived this evening, an uncle and cousins arrive in a couple of hours and some more relatives will be coming in tomorrow. This will be a packed house filled with noise and food. I haven’t seen many of these relatives in a few years.

It was quite the jump going from hot, sunny Nicaragua to a cold and overcast Georgia. It didn’t even feel like Christmas until that first cold breeze hit me as I stepped off the plane in Atlanta. And by the way, getting from the plane to baggage claim on an international flight in Atlanta is ridiculous! It took me almost an hour, and I was moving pretty quickly.

While I’m home, there are several things I’d like to do:
1. Catch up with all of my family members, having intentional, meaningful conversations with each of them
2. Catch up with my old high school buddies and sit in on one of their Bible studies
3. Eat Mama’s delicious cooking
4. Eat grandma’s incredible cookies
5. Read “From Spiritual Slavery to Spiritual Sonship” and “Adam’s Return”
6. Experience the Lord in a new way
7. Party hard with the fam

I hope you thoroughly enjoy this holiday season and that you party like you mean it.
