Yesterday my team, team ignite, competed with the other teams on a long scavenger hunt in Bangkok, Thailand.
After getting the list of things to do, we were the first out the door. We prayed as we ran to check “bowling a strike” off our list. Fortunately, team ignite (my team) went bowling during training camp’s off night. We learned that all of us, with the exception of our team leader, are not very skilled at this sport. We arrived at the bowling alley before the rest of the teams and Molly started by knocking 9 pins down the first and second tries. She got down to the final frame and spared. With one more chance, she missed the mark again. By this time 2 of the 4 teams had moved on. We bought another game and she hit a strike.

After completing the next two tasks in about as many hours, we had to pick up the slack. I suggested splitting up for the next two and meeting at the Starbucks to complete task #4. Tracy and I went to purchase some fruit while the other team members ventured to a tower for a picture. We were to meet Amanda at one of the three Starbucks in the Nana district. Tracy and I went to three and no Amanda. What a stressful time that was! No phone, no language speaking skills, no other terribly great skills (except prayer), we were discouraged. We met a lady in a 7-11 that spoke english and let us use her phone. Apparently there was another Starbucks we past up. A bit uncertain, we made our way in its direction. The last team to arrive, our other parts waiting for 30 minutes, I was certain we lost.
I would write more of this dramatic story, but I haven’t the time. I will say, though, that we were victorious!
