I sat next to a man on a hospital bench yesterday. He had a urinary tube wrapped in his arm. He had gangrene on his groin. I made small talk with him and then wondered why I was doing that when I only had five minutes with this man.
“What would you like to do with your life?” I asked him.
“His face turned very thoughtful and he replied, “Well, I’ve been thinking about that recently. I’ve been wondering if there is anything more to life than drinking. I drink a lot of beer.”
“Of course there is!” I told him. God has it all worked out for you and he’s just waiting for you to ask him. Just ask him and he will show you.
“I will do that,” he said. My teammates were waiting on me now and I had to leave. I quickly got his phone number and told him that I’d check up on him in a month when we return from our ministry sites. He was excited about this. I will be praying for this man this month.
