Hello y’all. My name is Sarah-Kate and I am 23 years old. I really struggle with writing about myself so I am going to ramble for a little bit and maybe by the end you will know me a little bit better.
So… Who am I?
I am first and foremost a lover of Jesus and daughter of God.
I am from Kentucky but have been living in North Carolina for the last two years.
I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2013 (GO TOPS) with a degree in Biology and Chemistry.
Apparently God had some different plans for my life because halfway through my senior year of college I felt called to go to seminary. I am half way through seminary at Duke Divinity School and I am currently pursuing ordination as a pastor in the United Methodist Church.
I am passionate about the world and how the Church can better be the hands and feet of God.
I am extremely extroverted but I am slowly gaining some introverted tendencies.
As much as I love being with people, I also love to cuddle up with a good book.
And no aspect of my day would be complete without COFFEE.
I love the outdoors, and I don’t think I have ever been on a family vacation that didn’t include some type of outdoor adventure.
But at the same time, I love rainy days spent at my favorite coffee shop drinking tons of coffee and catching up on some reading and writing.
I love to craft but I am not creative.
I love to write but I am awful at grammar. (This is my pre-warning to anyone that reads any post I ever write)
And while were talking about grammar… I love exclamation points! Why just use normal punctuation when you can use energetic punctuation!! (I promise they don’t mean I am yelling or angry!)
I am a little all over the place and have hundreds of things bouncing around in my head constantly! This means I can be easily distracted….but I’m working on that!
I’m pretty sure I’m tone-deaf…but I love to sing!
I love to dance and randomly bust out in dance moves to let out some energy!
I have a puppy (that is 8 years old) named Winston Bartholomew! He is the best roommate and road-trip companion!
My family means the world to me and I wish I could take them everywhere with me!
And because my family is so important to me let me tell you a little bit more about them:
I am the youngest of three kids born to Nick and Anita, two pretty awesome parents. I am much younger than my siblings and I like to think I have helped to keep my parents young. I have proven to be the child that constantly keeps my parents on their toes with big dreams and big adventures, but they are both extremely loving and supporter (even when they don’t always love my ideas).
I have looked up to my older sister, Laura, since birth, and always wanted to be exactly like her. Once she married my brother-in-law, Mark, I instantly started asking when I would become an aunt! And once she had kids I just looked up to her even more. She is the most loving mother on the face of this planet and is a beautiful example of Christ’s love to her children and to the the 5th graders she teaches. She is the momma of two precious little nuggets and I hate not living near my niece and nephew.
My older brother, Nick, has always been my hero. Our small 5 year age difference made him the closest sibling to my age, which meant that I wanted to do whatever he was doing. This usually meant we played with little green army men and battleships but I thought it was the greatest. My brother recently got married and I am so thankful for my new sister-in-law, Megan. I might have already started asking them when they were planning to make me an aunt again!
My ramble is now over and hopefully you have gotten a small glimpse at who I am! If you ever have any questions or want to get to know me even better, please contact me (click the “contact me.” tab on the left). I am so excited about this journey and I am looking forward to being able to bring y’all along with me through this blog! So come join my journey, and let us go on this adventure together!
