Today is my last day with Team Life Speakers. Today is my last day in Honduras. Today is my last day in Central America. Today is my last day of knowing the language. Tomorrow brings LOTS of travel (Read: 70ish hours) and then LOTS of change.
New team.
New leader.
New country.
New continent.
New ministry.
I’m off to Thailand to work in the villages outside of Chiang Mai to prevent sex trafficking at its root, to empower and educate families against sex-brokers who seek out women and children. We’ll be bringing the message of Christ and freedom to people who see no other option. Specifically, we’ll be with the X-Life ministry of Lighthouse in Action. My heart is doing cartwheels for this month and all that it brings but at the same time, I’m grieving what was.
This team.
This leader.
This country.
This region, but that’s another blog in itself.
This ministry.
You see…we’re going into a month called “Manistry.” That’s where all the 11 of the men work as one team and women teams realign, placing me on a team of 9 women. That means Jay and I will be separated for the first time in a long time. It’s going to be rough. We’ve been together 24/7. We’ve grown together and loved together. We’ve grieved together and laughed together. It’s been SO good, but that’s another blog in itself. We’re soaking up the last of our time together here and on the travel days.
Next month will be challenging, but we are SO excited for what this means! It means individual growth and learning from each other when we come back together. It means learning from new leaders. It means a sweet mini-vacation halfway through the month for us to have a weekend together. It means becoming more integrated with our squad and diving deeper into friendships. It means a new appreciation for what we add to one another’s lives.
Please pray for us in our individual growth and our hearts as we’re sure to be missing each other. Pray for smooth transitions into our new teams and that the larger size of the teams will not affect the intimacy. Please pray for rest for Jay in this break from leading. Pray that the Spirit breaks down language barriers and gives us incredible translators. Pray for the travel day(s) we have ahead. Pray that the Lord continues to go ahead of us in Thailand to prepare what He has for us.
God is good, all the time.
