Maybe He does, maybe He doesn’t.
We don’t know, but we do know that He used ice cream to glorify His name last week.

Here’s the back story:  We planned a fundraiser at Cold Stone Creamery.  The week of the fundraiser came, Jay was sick and feverish, Jenn had just received 6 immunizations which were taking a toll on her body, and on top of that, it had been pouring rain for days along with 100mph gusts of wind.  Not the type of weather people want to go out in, let alone for ice cream.  So we asked for prayer and this is what we got…

Our fundraiser was announced at church Sunday morning at both services, friends posted on FB and flyers were put up around town.

We arrived to Cold Stone at 3:30 in the rain and setup our info table.  Between 4 and 5 a few people came in, our senior pastor was the first from of church.  A couple who was just there to get ice cream started talking to us.  After we told them we are going to Nicaragua, they dropped money into our jar because they support church building there.  We already felt blessed and realized the night was going to be a huge blessing and far surpass any expectations we had.

The rest of the night we were talking nonstop to friends, church members and strangers curious about The World Race.  God gave us the health, strength and energy to get through four straight hours of talking and provided some great conversations.  As soon as it was over, our throats were sore and our bodies ached again.

We got to experience how small this world is!  A family who recently moved to Alaska had a good friend who just started The World Race this month and we enjoyed the mutual kinship.

God showed us just how much this church means to us to Him.

People continued to bless us throughout the evening by buying ice cream (25% of the profits got donated to us), filling up our support jar and speaking into our lives.

Then the coolest thing happened.  At 7:45, our church’s family pastor brought the entire Junior High youth group to Cold Stone.  It took them until almost 8:30 to get all 50+ orders through.  One parent decided to pay for the entire group!  What!?!  We thought that was the nicest thing for somebody to do, until we heard what else they had done.  All the money the kids had planned to use to pay for ice cream was gathered and donated to us…
blown away is our only possible response.

Thank you, Lord, for servants and stewards that obediently and generously give, love and support.
