Hello! My name is Zack Toth. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my blog. If you haven’t heard, I will be leaving in September 2015 to go on the World Race. It is an 11 month Christian Mission Trip where I along with other World Racers will do ministry for a month in 11 different countries. It is going to be an incredible opportunity for me to be used by God and make His name known throughout the entire world!
So yeah… I am pretty excited about that! This blog is set up so that you can begin to learn more about me, hear about this amazing trip that I am going on, and give you an opportunity to join in my ministry both financially and through prayer.
In other blog posts, I will go more into detail about my expectations for the trip. I will also go into detail about what brought me to this point. But as of right now, I would like to give you a couple quick facts about me!
————————————————————————————————————————————————–
In May, I finished up my degree in Computer Engineering from Penn State. My time at college was absolutely amazing. God blessed me incredible friends, opportunities, and lasting memories. Leaving here is going to be extremely difficult. However, I am excited about what God has in store for my future!
My biggest desire in my life is to bring glory to God. I want to say that before getting too far into this post. I believe this is the only purpose to life. Every other interest of mine is seen as insignificant when looked at the scope of God’s glory. However, as much as I would love to say that I do this perfectly, I would be lying. I struggle in so many ways. Countless times I place my own selfish desires before God’s glory. Romans 7 sums it up so well:
Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Romans 7:21-24
Thankfully, an answer comes in verse 25: “Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!”
I am so incredible mystified by the love of our Lord. He is the redeemer of us all. He showed us love when we were lost. He gave us life when we were dead. Because of this, I will praise Him forever.
I actually initially intended to write this post to tell you about my interests. My goal was to tell you more about who I am. However, I believe moving forward without first tell you about the love of our Father would put the focus too much on me. In reality, God is the one who writes my life. He gave me my interests. He is the reason I am where I am today.

And with that in mind, I feel more comfortable to actually talk about myself (which I guess is the reason you actually clicked this page in the first place!)
I guess I can begin with the fact that I am extreme extrovert. When I am not around people, I feel as though my day is not complete. I feed off the energy of my friends, and am always willing to spend more time with people.
Secondly, I am very interested in adventures. That is probably what led me to the World Race. Whether it’s late night trips to Sheetz (if you don’t understand, come to western PA), venturing on a 13 mile hike, or exploring a cave, I am always up for making a lasting memory.
I love games! Board games, card games, video games, random “make it up on the spot” games…Actually, it’s not as much the game as much as it is the company…but the game matters too! Hearts, Spades, Dominion, Ticket to Ride… I literally could spend every night playing these games. I also love learning new games. If there was a way I could remove sleep from my schedule, I would replace it with games! I love competition, and am always willing to try something new.
Going off of games and competition, I also love sports…literally every sport imaginable! I may not be able to follow the details of every sports league, but I can typically have a conversation about most of them. Football, hockey, and baseball hold a special place in my heart, but every Winter Olympics, I become the biggest curling fan I know!
If there was an award for drinking milk, I believe I would win it. Especially chocolate milk. Even as I write this, there is a half gallon of milk sitting at arm’s reach. Few meals go by where milk is not my drink of choice. I actually am sad when restaurants don’t offer it. To give you a perspective, when I am at school, my mom buys a half gallon of milk for her and my two brothers. Often times, that half gallon goes bad before they finish it. However, when she knows I am coming home, she buys 2 gallons in preparation. And typically those are gone well before the sell by date.
I don’t really follow all the drama that comes out of Hollywood, but I do believe Netflix is God’s gift to this generation. My all time favorites are The Office, Chuck, Burn Notice, Lost, Breaking Bad, and Psych.
That’s about all I can think of now. I would like to leave you with a few quick things:
Favorite Color: I’d have to go with a nice manly purple… or a royal blue
Do I sing? – Absolutely. Is it on key? That’s a different question entirely!
What are three words to describe myself? – Let’s go with goofy, thoughtful, and intentional (but mainly goofy)
Do I speak any languages besides English? – Do computer languages count!? Oh, I guess I just outed myself as a bit of a geek… But other than that, not really. Although I have mastered the language of sarcasm!
Given the chance, what historical event would I go see? – Biblically, I would love to see the Garden of Eden. From more modern history, I would like to see the signing of the Declaration of Independence. That, or the 1980 USA vs Soviet Union Olympic Hockey game!
If I was invisible for a day, what would I do? – Hmm… so many possibilities! I think it would be amazing to watch a Steelers game from the sideline! But I would really spend most of the day pranking people. I would probably begin the day by whispering in people’s ear and pretending to be their inner conscience. It would also be fun to switch everyone’s cell phones with a plastic toy phone that children play with. I would also enjoy walking around an airport and sneaking water bottles into people’s carry on. For some reason, I would get amusement out of tapping people on the shoulder and watching them turn around and have no clue who it was. I would probably try to walk into a bank vault….I wouldn’t steal anything…I would just want to say I did it. Finally, I would end the day with playing with my dog. It would be priceless to see how confused she would be by seeing a tennis ball floating in midair!
Ok, that’s all I have. If you would like to know anything else about me, just ask!
