Back in December, Cindi was supposed to make the move out to the Philippines full time.  However, her dream of moving out there was put on a long hold when things never seemed to come together.  The financial support wasn’t coming in, the logistics and timing wasn’t lining up, and the position she wanted to come out to fill even started to change.  For several months, we were expecting Cindi to come out and join us, but nothing seemed to be going the way it was planned.  However, we kept hearing from Cindi because she told us that nothing would keep her from getting out there.

When I left a few weeks ago, it looked like Cindi might finally be in the final stages of making the move.  For the last couple of years she pursued this dream of moving out to the Philippines full time, but nothing seemed to be working.  When most people might have moved on and given up when things didn’t line up, Cindi kept pushing.  She kept raising support.  She kept resetting dates and looking for new places to live.  She kept discussing the needs in the Philippines and with KIM and readjusting her mission.  Finally, at the first of May, she was able to make the full time move.

She is still in her first couple of weeks of transition, but is already hitting the ground running and telling her stories along the way.  I love clicking onto her blog and seeing the familiar faces, places, and hearing somewhat familiar stories.  She is currently serving in Manila and helping out by running the guest house but also figuring out how she can help the Filipino community around her.  She has been longing to make this two year commitment for the past couple of years.  Now, she can live in the country that she felt God call her to and serve the ministry that first help her realize that calling.  It’s easy to look at circumstances and think God has changed his mind, but it takes true perseverance and strength to hold onto a calling when every door looks closed.

Cindi is telling her stories fairly regularly, so I thought I’d try and connect you to another blogger and I’m nearing the end of this project.  I’m sure I’ll come up with something new when 365 rolls around, but there are many other people telling great stories out there and I’m sure Cindi will be one of them.  Check her out here or anywhere you see her name.
