I’m at Catalyst this week. It’s a mega leadership conference hosted by Andy Stanley and a team of incredibly gifted musicians and speakers. I’ve met some incredible people and talked with some unbelievable ministries. One guy I was able to meet, Derek, is with an organization the makes micro loans in Kenya. They are in their second year of a five year program to help communities out of poverty and into a place where they can help themselves.
As I talked with Derek, I couldn’t help but feel a common bond with him even though we had never met. It was an instant connection as my mind flashed to my friends in the Philippines and all the work we’ve been doing out there. They need jobs much like these Kenyans and companies like Nuru (the organization Derek works for) are leading the charge in answering this call.
