We leave tomorrow at 6:45 am for Cambodia. Our squad leaders sat down earlier tonight and decided on where my team will be doing ministry. Here is the general summary of the Organization my team will team up with this month:
Organization name : Cambodia Hope Organization
General
Ministry Summary: Cambodian Hope Organization (CHO) is a ministry that is growing rapidly in the Poipet area. Poipet is in Banteay Meanchey province on the border with Thailand. They have a center for youth where they have sports ministry, skills training, English teaching, and Bible studies. They also work in the local area educating the villagers about subjects like hygiene, public health, trafficking, etc. Teams can help at the youth center by playing sports, teaching skills, teaching English, giving music lessons and leading Bible studies. You can also assist in the education projects in the local village or help provide medical care if your team has the necessary skills.
Through prayer and Godly leadership my team was chosen to go and partner with this ministry this month. I’m especially excited about it because of the opportunity we will be given to share with the villagers the horrors of the sex trafficking industry. From what i’m told many people fall into this industry because their families need money and the people that run them swear that they will take care of their children and have them send money back home. When in reality the young girls and boys are sold as sex slaves and only make enough money to support themselves let alone their family back in the villages. So my personal mission goal is to spread awareness and try to stop people from ever getting involved in such an industry. Let’s wake up kingdom people!! Let’s make a difference in someone life… in a families life.
Tyson and I felt led a few nights ago to go into a bar and share the gospel with a 31 year old woman who is in prostitution, so we did….details in the next blog 🙂
