Simple Facts
Yes, you guessed it there are mostly Asians here so I stick out like a sore thumb. Asian weather is usually hot or rainy. But not just any kind of hot, humid and sometimes your feel like you just can’t breathe. When I visited Asia it was more developed then I thought it would be. You can commonly find malls and rice fields in any city. There is a lack of clean, running water in many areas. They do have Starbucks here! There is a huge desire to be white. At the store you find skin whitening lotion, shampoo, deodorant and make-up. Many women will cover themselves head to toe to get away from the sun, when I was sweating in just shorts and a t-shirt. Asia is one the biggest areas for human trafficking. There are huge Red Light districts in places like Bankok, Thailand where women and children are enslaved to have sex for money. Many Europeans and Americans serve as vacationing customers at these brothels.

 

Spiritually
Buddhism is the largest religion in almost every Asian country. Christianity is almost non-exsistant in many areas. In Toch Village, Cambodia, few to almost none heard about Jesus. Buddhism affects the spiritual climate and cultural norms. You can’t drive an hour without seeing a Buddhist temple or a huge gold Buddha. The head is the most sacred part of the body in Buddhism which has been integrated into the culture. There is a lot of spiritual activity because of the pursuit of the spirits in these areas. The government, culture and family holds the people back from hearing about Christ.

 

 

Asia needs your help.
They need people to break the bondage of human trafficking that takes many lives.
Christianity is overrun by Buddhism. The hope of Jesus is missing.
