I live in a Christian nation.
More than likely my
neighbor is Christian and the local store clerk.
If we could pick one religion
to describe America it would be Christian.

I am serving in a Buddhist nation.
Every person I see
probably follows Buddha.
Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, etc. all claim to be
Buddhist nations.

Meet May.
She is one of the only
Christians in this village a few hours outside Ubon Ratchatani.
I can probably
count on my fingers the amount of Christians in that village.

I was struck. Imagine living in a village full of
Buddhism wherever you turn. Then you find Jesus and four years you are in a
village with only a few Christians. You family and many friends disown you for
believing in Christ. The amount of loneliness that she may feel at times.
The lack of encouragement from other believers because there were no
other believers.

She owns several hotels in the area that sometimes hold
Christian meetings for the few. Our team ministry for that day was to visit
each and pray over them. I found myself praying hard for May and these
hotels. I thanked God that she was still pressing on strong forward for
Christ. That she held on to her belief in Jesus when many would have abandoned
it already. I prayed God would empower her for the lost. That her life would be
an encouragement and blessing to many.

This woman is a mighty woman of God and yet I barely
know her. I was so encouraged by her faith in God. I realized how faithful God
is. I realized how lucky I (you) am for having such a great group of believers
I have to encourage and pray for me.

Pray for May.
