I don’t sweat anymore, Kenya baby!

We have just arrived in Africa about 4 days ago. It has been
awesome so far. We are staying here at a backpackers place in Nairobi. The last
three months the only people that I have been seeing were Asian and now all I
see is Africans everywhere. It has taken some time getting use to but the people are
very kind here.

I know that I can vouch for our whole squad in how much we
love the weather. Today was the first day that I was out in the sun and I still
really didn’t sweat. I know that has totally contributed to the fact that I like Africa so far.

 

Yesterday we got to go to Rift Valley Academy. It is a
Christian school for missionary kids. Courtney from my team worked there for
two years. The Demars from my home church also worked there for several years.
It was just an amazing place.

If you all knew Courtney you would have heard tons of
stories from RVA and her time there. She absolutely loves this place and our
whole team knows it. So when we got there and saw her with all her kids it was
amazing. We got to really see the people and place that she always talks about.
We got to see how much she really loves her children. The place that was just
in our imagination came alive.

My respect for Courtney grew so much that day. I saw her love,
leadership, and gifts shine so much. We were only there for an hour or two but
our team loved it. It was just an awesome day out for all of us because we were
able to grow as a team. And all we were doing was just having fun.

So needless to say, I have loved Africa so far.
