The last day us 15 girls went to Laos. It was quite an
adventure. We had to leave Thailand for 24 hours in order to get another 15-day
visa. Our host Boon Rong and our translator Karis took us across the border for
adventure and fun.

When we first got there we got settled in our guesthouse
that had air conditioning! I was so excited. Then we traveled to a waterfall
that was located in one of the villages. In the middle of banana trees and huge
amounts of vegetation was a couple hundred feet of water falling of the side of
a mountain. It was so beautiful and refreshing. It was nice to get away to
enjoy some of God’s creation. Plus it was so much cooler there.

On the way back to the guesthouse we stopped at a church in
one of the villages. The church was so small but they said there were 200
people who attend. Many of them children but it was exciting to know they are
training the next generation in Christ. I got to see coffee beans on the plant.
Crazy how these plants are worth so much.

On Sunday we got to go to a local church. It was great to
share encouragement with them. We did a drama about God’s love and I got up to
share more about it and my life. I was encouraged by them because of their
dedication even though it really isn’t legal to be Christian. After having
lunch we headed back to Thailand.

We all secretly loved Laos better but we did visit a cooler
place and had air conditioning…
so maybe that was it.
