Support Story
I was visiting with my family for the day and ended up staying over late. My parents told me that I should just stay the night. I really like my bed but I was too tired to argue much less drive home. Earlier that night my dad and I were talking about the money aspect to my trip and what would happen if I didn’t raise enough. I honestly told him that I don’t know what would happen but all I knew was that God would provide.
So that morning I woke up at 10am (I know I like to sleep in, what can I say I went to bed at two!) to the door bell ringing. I thought it was someone selling something so I didn’t get up. It rang again. Sluggishly I put my sweatshirt on and opened the door. It was someone that I knew and I thought they were here to see my parents. Instead she answers, “No, I am here to see you.” Confused I invited her in not even thinking that this had anything to do with my trip. She then told me that she wanted to pay for the rest of my trip. I was totally astonished asking, “Are you sure?” She was totally serious.
After some visiting and thanking, she left giving me a check for the exact amount of $5364 to finish off my fundraising. I would have never been there to receive the check had I went home. I know that God had me there for a reason and He provided. My dad and I both admitted that we had a feeling that someone was going to come and write a big check out to help in a huge way or finish off my support, we were right! At the beginning of this journey support raising was a big challenge for me. There were ups and downs and my own disappointments because in reality I wasn’t putting my trust in God. After finally giving it up to God, I was very confident that God would provide because I knew 100% that I was to go on this trip. Maybe I should have been jumping for joy but I wasn’t surprised at all because I knew with all my heart that God would provide for me or that miracle in my last month before I leave!
