I think I put a prayer request on the other blog asking everyone to pray for my Pastor who was battling cancer.
Now I'm here to ask you to pray for my pastor's family and my church family. Pastor Stew passed away tonight…
I think I'm in shock. He preached this Sunday in good spirits. He seemed fine and I was hoping to email him for tomorrow's Bible Study notes since I was going to be working.
I can't imagine my church without him. I was 5 when I started to attend his church. He's the only pastor I've ever known. I'm going to miss him a lot. I thank God for his influence in my life. This is the guy I sent emails to about everything that was going on in my life. He encouraged me, challenged me, held me up in prayer. He baptised me, taught me and believed in me. If I had any doubts about whether or not God wants me on this trip that man's belief in me is confirmation enough.
On Sunday he talked about being our brother's keeper. What does it mean to live in genuine relationship, real community. Told us we have to take care of each other. How very appropriate….
Please pray for his family: his wife, Jan, children Scott and Sarah and their families.
Pray for Lakeview Church. Pray for me.
I was not expecting this at all. I miss him…
