Can you believe your launch date is just around the corner?! I am excited for each of you as you begin your 11-month journey on the World Race. I know you have all been working very diligently the last several weeks to raise support and make the final preparations before launching in Thailand!
I thought you might enjoy a bit of an update before flying off to Thailand…As a squad, you raised $72,459 in the last 3 weeks—that is INCREADABLE!!
You now have $265, 925 left to raise in the next 6 months! If you continue raising support at the same rate, you could have your entire squad fully funded before the end of month 3! I have full faith that this is something you are capable of doing and I would LOVE to see you reach such a goal. We are yet to have a squad that has had each squad member fully funded before month 6 — You could be the first!
REMEMBER…
In order to continue meeting the deadlines that have been set for you, it is important that you do not put support raising on the back burner once you get out on the field. Remember that the Lord has called you to raise support just as He has called you to minister to the men, women and children you are about to meet. It is important for you to keep your supporters informed and to continue building upon the relationships you have developed with them over the last several months. Be sure they know that you still have a financial need to be met in the coming months.
Also, consider asking a friend or family member if they might be willing to be an advocate for you at home once you are gone. This is someone who would be able to speak before your church for you to give your community consistent updates about your ministry and your financial need. You may also want to talk to them about the possibility of them hositng a fundraiser or two for you while you are out on the field. Past racers have found success in having someone play such a role for them while they are out on the field.
