The whole last week we were in the schools with the little kids everyday until twelve. We would have crafts for our classes and games for them to play. It was a really great week. Everyday I would spend every recess for every class out with the kids. It was very draining but so rewarding to see the smiles on their faces and to hear there little laughs. The last day that we were there my class got done with all the games and the crafts early so I got to read them all two stories. Apparently I haven’t read “Red Riding Hood” in a very long time because when the wolf ate her grandma and Red I was so surprised! I was like,”what kind of kids book is this?! I love it!” but then the woodsman ruined it and saved the day and everyone was ok. Then I read them “The Monkey with the Blue Bottom” and that was a weird book but when I got done reading it the whole class got up and gave me a huge hug. It made me feel so good and happy.
After the schools everyday we would go out to outreach and tell everyone about Jesus. One day I was on a team of four and we got to talk to a momma who needed some encouraging but she wasn’t listening to well, but we got to pray over her baby who had a burn on her leg from hot water. Then we had the opportunity to talk to a grandma (Gogo). She loved Jesus so much but lost her Bible and was really appreciative when we gave her a Gospel of John. Then one of my team mates shared what the Holy Spirit put on her heart. The story was of Hanna in the Bible and how she couldn’t have a baby and was very sad so she asked God about it and He gave her a baby boy. The Gogo took that to heart because she has a daughter who is married and has been trying to have a kid for four years but can’t.
As we were praying for the Gogo and her daughter, guess who walks through the door home early, her daughter. Everyone on my team were so over joyed and couldn’t wait to pray for her. The Holy Spirit was in all of our heads and told all the girls to place our hands on her stomach and pray over her. I feel like the Lord told all of us that she was going to have a baby boy really soon. Everyone was super super happy and she was crying a little bit. Then we had to go and preach the Gospel more so we gave them hugs and they were so appreciative and happy.
The next house we went into there was a man that I talked to before and he was doing very well and very happy. There was also a old man who was now blind. We had the opportunity to tell him about Jesus and he decided to give his life over to the Lord forever that day. Then we got to place our hands on his eyes and pray over them and bless them. The people at that house were so very nice too.
Walking back to the bus that day my whole team that day was so so happy and excited for all the awesome things that God had us do. He truly is an amazing, outstanding, magnificent God. Theres nothing like Him in all the Earth. I am so grateful for Him in my life and am so happy that I am His child and there isn’t anything I can do and no where I can go to get rid of His love for me.
God works in everyones life. Just because Im over here in South Africa or in any other country doesn’t mean that God is with me more than you. He wants you to live completely for Him. God wants you to be the vessel that He uses to heal someone, or pray for someone. In the Bible it says that He never changes. He did so many crazy things in the old testament and Jesus was healing everyone and God has always used all types of people to do His work. If the thought her comes in your head of,”Im not a pastor/missionary so He’s not going to use me” or “Im to young/old for God to use me”, then that thought isn’t from the Lord, its from the evil one. God wants to use you no matter where you are at in life. If your in high school, college or have been out of school for 50 years! Even if you are very busy with work or work in a cooperation that doesn’t allow religion in. There are so many jobs specifically for you in this world and if you don’t to them then no one will.
Africa is amazing in so many way but so is America. There is so much to be done in both countries and God needs everyone to get up and give their all. I just want to encourage you to ask God for a mission. Ask Him to show you something that he wants you to do for His kingdom. You guys are awesome! Until next time!
