There are so many of us that love to question what God’s doing. I for one am the worst at it. I love to pray and ask God what the heck is He doing? How can any good come from this situation? When I think like this I constantly try and remind myself of two stories. The first one is of Job and the second is the man that was born blind from John chapter 9.

The reason I have to remind myself about Job is to make sure I remember who I am dealing with. I am questioning the God of the Universe. One of the first lines in Job 39 does it for me every time. God asks ” Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Surely, you understand?” God could have stopped there, but no. He goes on and on about how big he is. How this problem of Job’s was not to big for Him and Job’s problem most likely was a whole lot bigger than most of our problems! God is telling us in Job that there is nothing in this life that will make him break a sweat.

The second story I remind myself of is the man that was born blind. Can anyone even imagine being born blind? Never seeing a single color. I cant even imagine. That to me is a perfect time to ask why? What the heck Jesus? What did I do to deserve this? In John, Jesus clearly states this man did nothing to deserve this. John 9:3 says, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” That right there almost brings me to tears. So many hard things in our life we question, but God is using them to bring Him glory and so that He might be displayed in our hardships.

Sometimes we forget that God is painting our story on a canvas that is so big we can only see what is going on right now. We are terrified because we can’t see the rest of the painting or how our story ends. God reminds us that he is bigger than all of our problems and has a plan for them. We need to show the world we shouldn’t be scared of this life or God’s plan.

Jeremiah 29:11-14 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans for you to have a hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for me with all your heart.
