God is big.

That is pretty obvious right? I might as well tell you that the sky is blue or cows are delicious.

But the more I get wrecked by Satan as I prepare for the World Race, the bigger God shows himself to be. Over the past few weeks I have getting holes knocked in my spiritual armor left and right. I have been beset with fears and doubts about the race, I have had my idols come up again and again, I have had old addictions try to sneak back into my life, I have had my weakness pointed out to me so much, with a little voice saying every time, “See, you aren’t worthy of doing anything for God.”

But God is big.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 says: “…“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. ” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

You see, the more I am wrecked by the enemy, the more Christ’s power shines through my weakness. As more holes get knocked in my armor, the more God’s incredible power and grace are right there patching me up. Like Paul I can smile and even delight in getting wrecked, because God is always there. He is always sufficient, he is always big enough to cover my fears and doubts. There is never a point where he says, “No, this is just too much for me.” Never.

So no matter what is happening in your own spiritual life, remember that our God, our true Dad is bigger than it all. He will never get tired of seeing you come back to him again with your knees scuffed up and your nose bloody. He will always smile and patch you back up. He will never ever stop loving you with every infinite ounce of his being.

Remember that.

P.S. Brobdingnagian is a fun word that means gigantic. Use it to astound and impress your friends this week.
