My name is Tori McCrite and I’m going on a mission trip around the world.
I heard about the World Race 6 years ago and have always had a longing to participate on this trip. However, I always held myself back because I didn’t think I was the “missionary” type. I had this twisted view of what missionaries looked like, and I didn’t fit that particular mold. I didn’t think I was good enough to go and serve The Lord – I didn’t think people would listen to me about The Good News of our Savior.
BUT GOD CHANGED EVERYTHING…
After going through some tough things earlier this year (3 jobs in 5 months, moving back home and losing my community), I now realize that God does have a good plan for my life. He has renewed my faith in Him that He does love me abundantly and wants to use me as a vessel to serve His people for His Kingdom. I am His daughter and He is proud of me. These are things He had been trying to tell me forever, but it took me losing so many things that kept me comfortable for me to really start relying on God and to listen to Him. God asked me if I would go and make disciples in the world, and I said yes.
Below is a picture of my team on a mission trip in Costa Rica 2 year ago.

“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:12
I finally started taking this verse seriously and began to seek God’s heart. I have experienced so much goodness from God that has compelled me to share His love for His people. I am currently serving youth at a Christian camp (Camp Gideon) this summer and am loving the growth I am experiencing. It is hard and challenging work, but worth every second when I hear a camper pray for the first time and/or give their life to The Lord. I believe serving at Camp Gideon is a small scale of what I will experience and learn about God on the World Race and I am excited for all that He has in store.
THE WORLD RACE
The World Race is a stretching journey into 11 countries in 11 months to serve “the least of these” while amongst real and raw community. This unique mission trip is a challenging adventure for young adults to abandon worldly possessions and a traditional lifestyle in exchange for an understanding that it’s not about you; it’s about the Kingdom. https://www.worldrace.org/
Every day on the World Race looks a little different. Some days will be packed full with construction, VBS, building relationships with orphans, or praying for the sick at a hospital. Some days could be slower — shopping for groceries at the market, cooking for your team, and spending time praying for the community you walk through. Regardless of the pace or the activity, every day will be focused on being a part of God’s kingdom work. The countries I will be going to are Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Uganda, Rwanda, Albania, Greece, Thailand, Malaysia, Mongolia and China.
It’s a year of Matthew 10 in action: “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.”

WILL YOU BE A PART OF THIS JOURNEY WITH ME?
I need prayer. I need people who will walk through this new adventure with me and be there for moral support. I need love to know that I can do this because it may be the most difficult thing I will ever do in my life. I need to have people who believe in me because somedays I won’t believe in myself. I need prayer for my heart to be open and for God to use me in whatever way He wants. I need prayer that my team and I will be safe while serving. I need prayer for the Lord’s will to be done in my life whatever that may look like.
I also need to raise $16,000 for The World Race. This includes food, lodging, air, land, and sea travel. It also covers administrative, set up, coaching, debrief, and training costs prior to and at the start of my race. In addition to the trip cost, I will be required to raise an estimated $860 – $930 to cover the cost of a required MissionSafe medical insurance plan. I leave in October and need to have $13,000 raised before I depart. I can continue to fundraise the remaining $3,000 while I am serving on the mission field.
THANK YOU!
Thank you for taking the time to read about the mission The Lord has called me to. Thank you for being a part of my life and investing in me and in the vision I have for the people in these 11 countries. However you choose to give, in prayer and/or financially, I will be forever grateful for your love and support.
With Love,
Tori McCrite
