The Masai People in East Africa have some really amazing traditions. Before a
Masai boy can become a man he must hunt and kill a lion. He trains from the age
of 10 until he is 15 to achieve this task. It takes
every skill he possesses
and the hunt can last for days. When he returns he is accepted back as a hero
for slaying a deadly beast, his manhood is established, and he is given the
rank of Warrior. Many consider this tradition of the Masai to be barbaric and
see them as a violent people. You know what I think? The devil is a
roaring
lion seeking whom he may devour and we need lion slayers in our churches. The
time for coming to church and sitting in the seat is at an end. The church is
crumbling around people who don’t do anything. We need warriors who are willing
to take on the lion and stop him from devouring. This will take every skill and
resource one has and take your entire life but it is far better than burying
your talent and sitting by day after day, week after week doing nothing to
expand the Kingdom and hearing the master say “depart from me you wicked
servant, even what you have I am taking away.” We don’t need church members who
check the attendance box and occasionally show up for choir practice. We need
warriors.
