So it is kinda cool to continue to learn about God’s nature
in ways I don’t really expect. Here in Romania,
there are two of our World Race teams, mine (team Petra),
and team JOHOLO, living together with a gypsy family (some of the biggest
hearted people I have ever met) in the village of Viile Tecii.
A few nights ago, the five of us guys went up into the hills behind the village
to build a fire without matches or lighter fluid, cook some meat, pig out, and
have some man time. It was really amazing time together just being men and
bonding together in brotherhood. Just being men together out there has gotten
me thinking a lot about God’s nature. When I realize that all of the crazy and
wild stuff in our nature’s doesn’t originate with us but actually comes from
God himself, and knowing that we are made in his image and likeness, it really
inspired me and helped me become more comfortable in my own identity and
understand how it is reflecting God’s identity as well. I don’t think God like
being still and doing nothing. He wants to get out there and live it up. Him
and I aren’t as different as I for some reason have thought throughout my life.
Together we are just a couple of wild and crazy guys.
