Life is full of changes, some that are great, some that we consider bad and some that are not necessarily good or bad. The changes to my plans fall in the last group.

As you all know I have been planning on leaving the country on August 4th to start this great adventure. After a long while of thoughts and prayers I have decided to delay my departure for two months and will now be leaving in October. The final decision was just made in the past week or so. There were a few things that came into play that helped me make this decision.

Firstly, with the departure change there is a route change; meaning, I will be going to a few of the same countries but most of them have changed. This particular route, called October Route 4, will take me back to Uganda. I had the great opportunity to be in Uganda for a couple of weeks right after I graduated from Asbury back in 2014. I absolutely loved it and now I am going back. The other countries I am going to are as follows: Mongolia, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Uganda, Rwanda, Albania, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. So only one of the countries is the same and that is Thailand.

Secondly, I wanted to stay for a couple of extra months to be able to continue to raise funds. That being said, with the departure change comes a change in the dates of my training camp as well as dates for my fundraising deadlines. The new deadline dates are as follows:

$5,000 by July 22nd; $10,000 by September 16th; $13,000 by November 30th and fully funded by January 31st.

The new date for my training camp is now August 10-20th.

The third and final reason I decided to push the date of my departure was for the sake of my current job. It is expected to be a very busy summer as, as summers always are. This summer in particular will be especially busy with a lot of changes taking place.

I wanted to let y’all know what was going on; I apologize for being slow in writing new blogs and staying up to date. If any of y’all have any ideas or suggestions about what I should write about, please send me a message and let me know. I am so incredibly grateful for all of your continued prayers and support.
