(Καταφ?γιο) Katafygio – Greek for Refuge

So lets me just say that God gets all the glory for the way this team has been structured and the way we have all been able to grow so close in the short time that we have known each other. God has specifically placed each person on our squad and on this team for a reason and that excites me so much. God has created an army of His children to go and fight the good fight. It is going to be EPIC.

So let me introduce you to my new family.

(Going from left to right)

First off we have this little goof ball, Alexa Kwiatkowski. Simply put, she is always fun to be around and you can see the the awesome Jesus light in her shining through her goofiness. I look forward to seeing the different ways that God uses her and I know she is going to be such a blessing to be around on those days where ministry doesn’t exactly look like what we imagined it would be. She’s kinda like a fire cracker; fun, bright and you just can’t not smile when you have a firecracker.

And then we have Miss Sadie Goodwin. One of the best things about training camp was just the intimacy with God that we were all able to experience as His children. It was truly incredible seeing Sadie worship her Lord, Jesus, and spend time with her Father. It was inspiring to see her just being a child wanting to spend time with her Father throughout the week. As her and God grew more and more intimate with each other it was easy to see that she was a reflection of Him and His heart for people and I believe that’s part of the reason that God has her on this team; to show us His heart for the world. I can’t wait to see how God moves and works in and through her throughout the next year.

Next up is the awesome woman of God that is Rachel Eddy! God blessed her with a rather awesome smile and now that I think about it I’m not sure I can remember a time when she wasn’t smiling. But it makes sense… She is a woman after Gods heart and so it just makes sense for her to share that smile with the world. In fact, now that I think about it, it’s clear to see that God wants to use her to do just that! I think when God created Rachel he must have been like “Well since they wont be able to handle seeing me smiling at them in ALL my glory, I think I will just bless this child so that she can go show the world my smile… And it was good.” Now thats just the way I imagine it going down but I think you get my point.

And in the middle do we have our Team Leader, Paul Diffee. There is no doubt that God has given this man a brand new heart. It is evident to see Gods love for us in the way that this guy cares for people. When I first met all the men on my squad I just knew that God would use Paul and I to do some amazing things together whether it means building each other up to be true men of God or reflecting our Fathers love to some children growing up in Africa who have never known such a love. So I truly believe that God has placed Paul and I on a team together for a reason and I trust this man to be the leader that this team needs as we all go and experience some of the hardest things we will ever go through.

Words to describe Kelly Franke: Tenacious. Intense. Intune. Intentional. First off let me just say that she really has an incredible love for God. And that love seems to influence everything from the things she says to the things she does and the way she does it. She’s not afraid to tell you the way things are because she does it out of love. I think that Kelly is going to be used to do some awesome things for God’s Kingdom and is really going to challenge me and the rest of the team to walk out the things God is calling us to.

Last but certainly not least is Miss Lauren Sigmon. She is one strong women of God and her obedience to step out of her comfort zone in order to follow God into the unknown has set an example that I believe we all could follow. She is a very self motivated woman as well. I guess you could say that she’s the “Type A” that we “Type B’s” need to get things moving. But it’s not all business because this girl is definitely just as fun as she is encouraging.

So there you have it. Team Katafygio, a place where you can let your walls down because The Lord is our refuge. Each of these people has a specific reason for being on this team and God is going to do some mighty things I cant even imagine. I love these people incredibly and I am so thankful God put me on this team with these people. He is awesome

Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:8
