The R squad men walked into a less
traditional “manistry month then they expected. Typically The
World Race offers one month out of the 11 month trip to the men, who
are always the vast minority in a World Race squad, to spend time
with each other without the company of their sisters. Usually this
involves lots of nature, physical labor and gas. This month,
however, we are staying in the metropolis of Kuala Lumpur. More
specifically downtown Kuala Lumpur. We’re working with Myanmar
refugees, street feedings, orphanages, etc. The men are very
expectant of God to move not only in ministry but with each other.
We decided to do worship, devotions and testimonies together. One of
the things that we wanted to do was come up with a team name for our
team of 10 men.

We decided to spend the night praying
about it individually then we would come together at breakfast to
talk about it. That night one of my favorite passages came to mind.

“…The Lord rebuke you O Satan! The
Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand
plucked from the fire? Zechariah 3:2

This passage is part of a vision that
Zechariah is having of Joshua the High Priest of Israel. I love this
passage and I figured that most of the guys could relate to the
terminology of “brand plucked from the fire. So I was excited
when I brought the prospect of Team Joshua up to the group and it was
met with enthusiasm and even Jordan said he was thinking the same
thing. So between Team Joshua, Team Nephalim Slayers and Team War
hammer of God I’m pleased to say that Team Joshua was decided.

As a squad leader, it’s hard to ignore
the prophetic nature of team names. So the more I think about Team
Joshua the more excited I am about this group of men. Not only is
there so much grace on these men (Zech 3:1-5), and the opportunity
for them to step into masculine courage and strength (Joshua 1:9),
but how critical it is for these guys to be men of transition in
their families and society.

Moses lead Israel out of slavery,
Joshua lead Israel out of the wilderness, but no one could lead them
into freedom. Men of God like Seth Barnes, Michael Hindes, Mike
Paschall and Gary McGinnis have passed down their mission for us to
continue their work. And we have to be good enough stewards to
disciple the next generation to receive this mission so they can go
farther then we did. To be dangerous men of God, who live by the
Spirit, walk in integrity and are consumed for the desire of His
presence.

Please join me in praying for God to
accelerate the transition in these men. That because Christ makes our weaknesses our strengths we can succeed where the generation
after Joshua failed. That God would make our identities as sons of
the King and princes in His court more real then ever so we can walk
it out. All in hopes to awaken a generation of Adam’s to their
inheritance in Christ.
