Currently I’m just sitting here in awe of the youth group we have at my church.  This morning Jessica and I took a van full of our youth to the bus station in downtown Winston-Salem to hand out bag lunches they had prepared for the hungry.  We ended up handing out around 35 bag lunches in about 30 minutes time!  It was such a cool experience to have an impact on these peoples lives.  A cool observation is that most of the time when the youth would give them the food, they wouldn’t mention our church but people still knew.  They assumed we were christrians and asked what church we were from.  It’s just refreshing to see in a time when “Christian” has such a bad connotation to it, but when people who are in need are loved they know that love came from Christ.
It was also so uplifting to see how excited and eager the youth were to get out there and interact with these people.  Also the whole idea came from one of the youth.  She planned it and organized it, Jess and I were just the “responsible adults”.  It’s just very obvious to me that God is raising up a whole new generation of fearless followers and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store.
